The Worst Lipstick In the World

... Ok so the title may be a little (just a tad) over dramatic - you think? Well you wouldn't be so dismissive when you own 'The worst lipstick in the world'. Well how did you purchase this lipstick when you're supposed to be on a project X Pan, Mango? Ahem, that's a good question but it starts with mind control, forced persuasion and then ends in a transaction (cough, cough) its all too painful to remember -_-.

So, I was out in Poundland like I do, yeah don't diss you know you be buying some Poundland tings my brethren ...when I saw a lipstick. A lipstick that was quite pricey elsewhere, it was  from the drugstore brand Maybelline (owned by the L'oriel company :P) in the colour 'Wooden Brown' which sounded like something that would complement my skin tone, so I parted with my pound.

What a mistake-a to make-a!

Pros

1. It was inexpensive
2. Tones down the pinkness and uneven colouring of my lips
3. No shimmer, so for those who don't like shimmer its great.
4. It is semi-matte - it looks inauspicious/natural on.   

Cons

1. It smells bad
2. The lipstick is DRY - like the Texas deserts - There is NO Moisture so it tugs at the skin but its waxy and bubbly and sticky (?)
3. It is an exercise in itself to put this bad boy on - this lipstick creates texture when applied - depositing small mounds of sticky wax which must be smoothed out by pressing lips together, then by a finger  dabbed ... worth it (me nuh tink so) 
4. ... did I not say it ... it smells bad (like a  gone off crayon)

And for those of you who say its gone off and should be thrown out I checked the batch code number and yes it is an old lipstick I've purchased but it has 7 months out of it 36 months shelf life left. What a complete rip off, if I had not bought really good lipstick before at £1 I might not have been surprised. This really has shocked my mentality with cheap products. Boo to Maybelline for Passing this on to Poundland and Boo for Poundland buying it & BOO HOO HOO because the shame is on me :( !!!

I can honestly say that I have never come across a lipstick like this . I think the reason maybe because its in a discount store so its either really really old or that I just got a bad one (woe to me) because my other colour sensational lipsticks don't smell or have the same texture as this. All I can say is be warned. The price was terrific and the colour is not bad too - the application and the smell however is not good. BUT like everything else I own, I will try to make it work and who knows I might repurchase just to make sure ... ? (Mango stop it) Do you see how much of a lip product junkie I am, I get a bad hit but I keep comming back for more ... good grief.

Update: I've thrown it away ... good riddance :)
