...you might want to read this story, about a Chinese activist living in NYC. She has made documentaries about the One Child policy and other uniquely Chinese ways of dealing with population pressures.

I periodically read both The Atlantic and The New Yorker. Both have published surprisingly fair and intriguing stories, like this one. New York, and its citizens, often get the reputation of being over-the-top Leftists; stories like this put the lie to that reputation.
